How It Works

At Empower Kids, every initiative meets an important need for those living in South Sudan.

  • What it is

In an effort to help jump-start South Sudan’s capacity to deliver higher quality outcomes from their school system, we at Empower Kids South Sudan funded 14 South Sudanese teachers from both public and private schools to study 21st century teaching techniques on the campus of Arizona State University for one semester.

  • Why it's important

South Sudan’s educational system has been dramatically disrupted as a direct result of the civil war that erupted in the 1950’s. For decades, all of the basic components of any society were non-existent including a basic and stable education system.

  • What's next

At Empower Kids South Sudan, we hope to expand this vital education program to include dozens more educators who will learn today’s most effective teaching methods as well as attend courses about freedom and free enterprise orchestrated by the Eller School for Entrepreneurship at the University of Arizona.

Your Support Matters

With your financial support, we can work together to empower a new generation of South Sudanese people — in an effort to establish a much higher level of knowledge as they rebuild their country. 100 cents of every dollar you provide goes directly to our initiatives.
